So, I have an update for everyone. I don’t know why I am doing this, seen as I have plenty of papers to occupy my time, but I figure it is much more important to keep everyone informed.
We went home (Des Moines) last weekend for Jennifer’s baby shower. We had tons of fun, but the point is we finally found a place to live, and it is ALL OURS!!! I have been worrying about this for a couple of weeks now, but we actually signed a lease, so nobody can take it from us. Let me describe the place to you.
If anyone has ever been to Des Moines, you know it is a little town on the shores of the wonderful Puget Sound. If you have ever looked for an apartment there, you would know that the options are scarce. Therefore, Josh and I found an apartment that has the most character I have ever seen in a long time.
Let me paint the picture for you. You walk up some stairs to the front door. You are looking at a front door and to the side of the door is mustard yellow, wavy glass used to “add a little light.” When you walk into the townhouse and look down you are now brought back into the 70’s. The laminate is beautiful and I couldn’t ask for anything better (haha). In addition to this the current tenant has the walls painted red (not so well I might add) throughout most of the apartment. Luckily we were able to tell her we wanted it to be painted back. Hmmm…I guess I could tell you about the postives. It is two floors, 1100 square feet, and it is 2 blocks from the gorgeous marina. Who could ask for more? If you want to look at pictures, too bad we forgot to take some, but I will try to take some pictures once we move in and make it look cute.
If you want to visit me at this new place of mine, you will have to ask, I am selective on who I invite to my humble abode.
Tata for now.

So, I know everyone wants to know how I am doing…It has been a long couple of days, full of homework, wearing weird shoes, and stressing to the point of becoming crazy. I ONLY HAVE 2 MORE WEEKS of class here at Western and then I am on to my student teaching.
My toe is “healing” if you could put it that way. It is still looking kind of gross, and I had to learn I needed to stop suffocating it. I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow (hopefully if it works with my schedule) to make sure it is healing okay and when the pain will go away.
Seen as we only have 2 weeks left the stress is hitting, but the lack of motivation is hitting as well. Hopefully my trip home this weekend will assist in relaxing and finishing this quarter off with a bang.

I didn’t plan on updating everyone so soon about my life. Today, in a break between classroom experiences and class I came home to make myself
some lunch and after I changed I opened my bedroom door and hit my toe on it. I thought, an that hurt, it will probably be okay. After awhile, when it still hurt I decided to take off my sock and I realized I ripped my big toe nail off. This is not for the faint of heart. It hurt like no other. I didn’t think there was anything that could hurt as much as this did (maybe childbirth).
I immediately made Josh come home and take me to the student health center. Once there, after making the receptionist and RN cringe when they looked at my toe, the doctor came in. She looked at my toe and her initial reaction was
like, “hey let me try to move it to see how loose it is!!!” I think that hurt more than ripping the toe nail off. She then decided that it would be best to numb my toe and pull the whole nail off…when she said this I definitely started crying again. Josh came in and was my moral support, but she decided to not take my toe nail off, but rather push it back into place, without numbing my toe.
So after 2 hours, I am sitting here on the couch, missing my class that I was suppose to be in, nodding off to sleep because of the codeine, and my toe is still throbbing.

I decided to change my webpage around a bit, this is the page Josh gave me for my 21st birthday. Now, instead of just pictures I can keep everyone updated with my crazy life.
Right now, Josh and I are working on getting his graduation announcements finished, we (meaning I) decided it would be cheaper and cuter to make them ourselves. We are also in the middle of a search for a place to live in about a month.
I had contacted my teacher I will be student teaching with. We will be meeting on March 9th for a mini-interview. She is very nervous because she has never had a student teacher before and she does not want to ruin my experience.
School is slowly wrapping up…it is crazy to think I am almost done at Western and will be back at home in a month. Classes are stressful and very demanding this quarter, but I know I can make it through.
I will try my best to keep everyone updated on the happenings in my world.
